African Healing Temple: Songs of the Ancient Waters

25th August

Reconnect with the Ancient Wisdom of your Womb

1 of 2

For those of you that know of the work of Gogo Philiswa, will know what a blessing it is to have her here in the UK.
A powerful medicine woman with so much depth. We have heard the call of you women of this island, realising our wounds and conditionings which leave us feeling disconnected, wanting to embrace our womb space and fierce feminine powers. This is an opportunity to be guided by a deeply authentic, playful and rooted medicine woman.

This will be a day filled with:

REMEMBRANCE

PURIFICATION

ANCESTRAL HEALING

EMBODIMENT

FIRE & WATER CEREMONY

& SO MUCH MORE

We invite you to a sanctuary of remembrance, to reconnect with the ancient Wisdom of your Womb, held by the medicine of traditional African, spiritual and ancestral healing arts. In a circle of sisterhood. We will chant, sing, move and journey together on the rhythm of the drum and ancestral songs, as we work with the 4 elemental powers of Water, Fire, Air and Earth.

This is an invitation to bring our inner waters in movement, cleanse, activate and invoke our healing as we pray together. We will use several natural medicines to support our healing journey such as a cacao ritual, herbs and sacred smokes, anointing oils, plant bath and spiritual baths.

This journey is guided by Gogo Philiswa Makhaye  - Spiritual and Ancestral Healer from the Sangoma tradition of South Africa and Maïlé Kalokura Spiritual Healer, Shamanic Astrologer & Musician.

  • What is a Healing Temple?

It is a sacred space that we create and use for a gathering and group healings, where we activate spiritual technologies to hold space for spirits, sacred energies as well as ancestors, to enable healing and freedom in whichever intention the group has come for. A healing temple ensures that light can illuminate perfectly all the work that is being done and that all participants feel safe and held throughout the experience. We may use tools such as incense, candles, crystals and strong medicine aligned with clear intentions, light and love to bring forth true healing. With over decades of experience in medicine, mystical teachings, spirituality and ancestral work, Maïlé Kalokura and Philiswa hold sacred spaces with love and integrity where you can share and be healed with ancestral knowledge, spiritual wisdom, light medicine and compassion.
  • What are Spiritual & Ancestral Healing?

Spiritual Healing methodologies focus on restoring a complete state of healing and wholeness through infusing light, consciousness, and restoring the perfect alignment of the mind, body and soul. This helps a person be one with the universal spirits of the earth, the cosmic forces as well as unite the energies that one holds within themselves. Spiritual healing is founded on a clear and direct connection with God/Source through the Heart. Ancestral healing methodologies are often used to reach into a person's bloodline in order to awaken the ones in the lineage that have transformed,  transcended and reached various levels or portals of ascension. When these healed ancestors are awakened or aligned with a person, they can bring forth generations of knowledge, power, wisdom as well as clarity regarding your intended path on earth (purpose) in a spirit of light and healing.
  • What is Ancestral Womb Healing?

It is a set of healing modalities to support Women reconnecting with our core feminine essence, our emotional intelligence, our natural rhythm, our Womb and our Body. In these spaces we explore our relation with all the elements of nature but we go more in depth to meet the element of Water in a physical, spiritual and shamanic perspective as we explore our personal and collective experience as a Woman. This is a gentle space of healing and empowerment, to start to face and dismantle hundreds of years of internalised patriarchy, misogyny and traumas that we often unconsciously hold in our womb imprints, psyche and ancestral memory. This healing practice helps you restore flow, creativity and pleasure into your life and gives you access to your innate gifts and natural return to balance and harmony.

"Find the silence beyond thoughts. Then simply remain. The rest will happen naturally, and the body will dissolve into light." — Philiswa Diane Makhaye

Who is Philiswa?

Philiswa Makhaye is an initiated and practicing traditional healer based in the south of Johannesburg, Gauteng, in Southern Africa. Born and raised in the rural areas of Pietermaritzburg, her values, principles, discipline, work ethic, and drive stem from a rich cultural background of healing within a deeply traditional family and community.
"I firmly believe that African Indigenous Knowledge Systems, cultural awareness, and self-awareness can help restore communities and bring back the dignity of not only Africa but also South Africa. Our culture and traditions can address societal ills in the country. Addressing the historic trauma of our ancestors can remind Africans of principles such as Ubuntu, particularly in these precarious times.
I am an activist advocating for the awakening of Black people, starting with topics such as childhood trauma and Umsamo. In my 16 years of experience, I have discussed how the disintegration of the African family has become the breeding ground for spiritually underdeveloped, hurt, lost, impoverished, violent, and hopeless communities. This work also contributes to bringing much-needed peace to countries currently facing religious wars, such as Congo, South Sudan, and Ethiopia.
My field of practice focuses on traditional healing, fixing Umsamo, addressing ancestral and bloodline trauma, and healing the inner child through psychology."

Who is Maïlé?

Maïlé Kalokura is a Shamanic & Evolutionary Astrologer, Medicine Woman, Somatic educator, musician & Cacao practitioner.
She is the daughter of many paths and mystical studies, including Mayan wisdom, south american shamanic studies, traditional african healing, spiritual healing and more recently Sufism.
After being initiated in ancestral African healing, she specialises now as a guide/mentor in the remembrance of temple healing arts for Women, water healing and creating transformative spaces to find purpose in our life and awaken our innate gifts.
